Is a tamed yeti as good as a regular one? let's find out. Pours dark matter black, like the blackness of being in outer space; with one inch of the darkest colored head I've ever seen. Quite spooky actually.
The nose has an "ooo" like quality. Big and boozey. Fresh vanilla and bourbon. Ripe dark fruits lay underneath the dominant scents as well.
Wow. A totally different monster. All the beautiful yeti like qualities are there but without the in your face tongue slapping destruction (which I do love, but this is nice too) . Sweet chocolate covered vanilla beans in a thick and creamy body. The flavors are so incredibly blended and well strung together. All the elegance of yeti without it's harsh nature. Sweetness balanced by a bitter black chocolate and slightly oaky finish. The perfect amount of oak too, just a touch.
There's no comparing the two beers. They are totally different monsters, but damn are they both delicious.

Look- opaque black, thick poor, thin dark tan head
Smell- hints of milk chocolate almost reminiscent of pudding, oak, coffee, molasses, nutty plum. Some cooked cabbage as well, unfortunately.
Taste- charred oak, bittersweet chocolate, earthy hops, semi-sweet malt in the middle followed by bitter dry finish with notes of cabbage. Alcohol is well hidden.
Feel- medium full, slightly sticky, medium carbonation
Overall- Despite the obvious infection, the aroma and appearance were quite inviting. Flavor was disappointing to me and I'm sure the infection played a role but I'm just not fond of the balance of roasted malt in Yeti.
