I bought this bottle at the Franklin Market of Choice, Eugene, OR. Pouring into a pint glass, it has a thin bubbly tan-brown head. It is very very black in color with no other hints of any other colors, even under a bright light. It has a good bit of lacing. The smell is a mix of mainly hops, but also roast and very little smell of alcohol. The alcohol comes through on the taste, but only in the very end. There's a different taste up front - maybe it is vanilla? - and then it's dominated by the roast before the alcohol/hops bitterness kicks in. Lotsa hops for an RI stout.
