Poured into a pint glass with a VERY large head of nearly four fingers. Great head retention of a solid mahogany and real stickyness. Body is opaque but a silky pour and dark walnut colored. Head will not go away total chocolate ice cream cone looking.
A real nice nose of cocoa powder and balanced malts. Aerated sweet spices and a hint of vanilla on the bouquet just great.
A little wet with a hop bitterness and tobacco taste. Malt follows afterwords but with a little bit of thin body, afterfinish has bitter lime astringency also.
Drinkability though is pretty good, but with the appearance and nose I was hoping it would be a little better. Still a good solid brew here. Great Divide does not disappoint.
