On tap at the Beer Engine. 12oz or so in a snifter.
A reddish brown liquid with a thick tan head sits infront of me. Looks great!
Smell is wonderful. Nice citrus hops remind me of grapefruit, oranges, and pineapple. Also some nice hints of the sweet barley that lies below.
Taste is great as well. Nice baked bread, caramel, and toffee. Figs and some toasted malt. Then an attack of the bitterness with huge citrus flavors and a resinous bitter element that sticks around.
Mouthfeel is good. This was creamy and smooth!
Drinkability was graded on a curve as this is obviously a huge beer. But it went down easy and was a very enjoyable barleywine that will only get better in time.
Serving type: on-tap
