Appearance: Poured into a Duvel sniffter; deep murky ruby with a thick dusty beige three finger head that has excellent retention and lacing.
Smell: Sweet, sugary molasses-like bread malt with an oily herbal hop background.
Mouthfeel: Hugely syrupy and sweet, muted carbonation... utter smoothness.
Taste: Sweet, sugary caramel raisin bread... peppery and spicy grapefruit. A little coffee and chocolate on the finish with some oh so nice warmth.
Drinkability: I only got one of these which was a big mistake... I'll be stocking up next time I see this. A pleasure to drink; complex beyond belief but a smooth, easy sipper.
