A - Pours a fairly clear ruby color with hints of brown and a finger of forthy off white head. The head fades slowly down to a think ring lacing very nicely on the glass in the process.
S - Aroma is a mix of rich sweet dark fruit and rich deep caramel malts. There are some piney and floral hops in the aroma as well.
T - Starts off with some sweet dark fruit flavor and some piney hops. There is also some rich caramel malt. Through the middle, richer dark fruit sweetness and some bitterness. The finish is a mix is a mix of rich dark fruit and some malt with some booze coming through that lingers.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate-low cabronation. Really smooth and rich. Finish has a bit of a warming from the booze level.
D - Very drinkable. The flavors are really excellently balanced and the hops presence is a really nice addition to the style. The booze is noticeable but very well blended in for the level.
