Black with a nice medium-sized creamy light brown head. Roasty and chocolate aroma is strong with a bit of hops at first pour. Chocolate dominates at first with coffee notes and eventually a nice hop balance. Medium bodied with a dry roasty finish.

a pretty good porter here, very much in the english style. i found it to be a bit sweet and a bit under carbonated for my tastes, but otherwise its quite good. medium brown, crystal clear, with a ruby red glow in the light. not much head on it. the nose and taste both are chocolate malty and sweet, amber beer sweetness, an odd sensation in a porter, which i usually look at as being dryer and more clean. it has a slightly watered down texture too, which surprises me in this dark colored brew with so much residual sugar. its a little generic overall, a beer i have tasted a thousand times, nothing super distinct about it at all. that said, the flavors work well together and its a rather true to style porter. more carbonation would make it outstanding, but it drinks a little heavy without it. one and done for me.
