From a growler...second day of being opened.
Pours black with large brown head...poured in Scotch Silly tulip glass.
Aroma of espresso, dark roasted malts, sweet malts, Mexican chocolate.
Moderate carbonation and big tongue piercing mouthfeel.
Flavors of Mexican hot chocolate, chocolate molten cake, dark roasted malts, chocolate malts, carob, bitter chocolate, slight chili pepper, vanilla, candy sugar, bitter hops. Oooh la la...absolutely delicious for an impy stout lover, but, oh yeah, there's a butt!!... like another of my favorite imperial stouts, Alesmith Speedway Stout, I don't know that the addition of Espresso (or oak, or even barrel aging), improves from the original. The one exception with the Yeti for me is the Belgian Yeti, which I usually love (there are slight variations in batches, or at least handling).
Nevertheless, even as a non-coffee (or espresso) drinker, this is super fine. Rich, smooth, bold, fulfilling, challenging, strong and something I could drink way too much of alone with an open growler!
Serving type: growler
