A generous infusion of Denver's own Pablo's espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It's official: You can now have Yeti with breakfast.

22oz. bomber into tulip glass on 4/15/09. Thanks to FooFaa for sharing!
A - Poured a black body with a burnt tan head that reduced to a thin veil and deposited some spotted lace around the glass.
S - Surprisingly muted nose for an espress oak-aged Imperial Stout! Subtle bourbon and woody notes with some vanilla sweetness and a hint of coffee. I was expecting a much more prominent aroma here.
T - Flavor is quite hoppy throughout with bitter coffee and a hefty roasted character, which then segues into a prevalent vanilla aspect that cools everything down just a notch or two and alleviates some of the bourbon's warmth. Some earthy hop notes and coffee bitterness/astringency appear in the finish. This is one hoppy mo-fo of a stout!
M - Full bodied with an oily texture and a touch of carbonation. Lingering metallic bitterness in the finish.
D - I can't believe what I'm about to say, but I actually found this to be a bit too hoppy and a bit off-kilter. I felt the espresso character wasn't pronounced enough. I was overall pleased with the roasty and bourbon qualities but this just didn't blow me away like I was expecting. With that said, this version of Yeti is still a fine brew.

Bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. ABV is 9.5%. Pitch black colour, creamy brown head. Intense aroma of chocolate and espresso coffee, also liquorice and oak. The flavour is oaky and roasty with loads of chocolate, without being too sweet. Also notes of liquorice and espresso coffee. Well balanced, an excellent beer!

Dark w/ creamy thick tan head. Nice lacing. Fabulous aroma. Coffee strong. Taste is strong coffee and a hint of sweetness. Smooth and easy to drink. Overall a nice strong beer that will satisfy any Craft beer drinker. On draft at Ron’s Corner Tavern.

Bottle review.
Pitch black; no light shall pass.
Nice dark tan head; thick lacing.
Smells of a delicious mocha latte; hint of booze. Enticing.
Thick, heavy mouthfeel.
Dark chocolate slaps you in the mouth on the first sip; coffee hits you on the back end.
This feels and tastes like a delicious chocolate malt. One of a kind.

Still love this beer. First had in 2016 from the bottle (4.75*), then in 2017 (4.5*), then a 2016 in 2018 (3.75*). Maybe my palette has changed over the years, resulting in the lowered rating or maybe it's me aging the beer, but it's still one of my old favorites that I'll continue to buy.

On tap. Pours a satin black with a multi finger, tan head that lingers and leaves lacing. Nose of espresso and roasted malt. Taste follows nose with roasted malt, strong coffee, and a subtle not of chocolate to balance the roastiness. Full body and low carbonation that is absolutely velvety smooth.
Another great Yeti. Great Divide does these magnificently.
