Picked this up at Siciliano's in Grand Rapids.
Ink black with a crown brown sugar. Head is mammoth but recedes leaving globs along the side of the glass.
Toasted coconut and fermented prunes on the nose. Big heavy notes here. Dark fruits and some bitter cocoa fudgey notes as well.
Sweet fudge brownies are apparent in the taste. Cocoa and coffee, mocha if you will. Bittersweet chocolate but a nice fudgey round taste all over.
Slightly overwhelming at first but once you get a grasp it is smooth and round versions of all the mentioned flavors. Big big coffee taste on aftertaste, but not overly bitter.
Quite a fantastic beer, well worth a buy.
