Nose: strong coffee, strong roasty barley. To much roasty-ness going on, a bit overpowering.
Palate: coffee and roast up front, big surprise. after thinking about it for a bit too long a bit of vanilla became reconizable. there was a bitterness from the hops, but I could not get much hop flavor, not that I would want any, but the bitterness was a bit superfluous.
Finish: burnt, roasty, and a little more vanilla. dulled hop hints.
Overall: a highly unbalanced beer. The malt profile did not complement the coffee, it just all got together to make a very roasty/burnt taste.
