Pours pitch black with one finger mocha head. Smell is strong chocolate, lots of earthy coffee, and a bit of black currant. Flavor is huge chocolate with that Yeti bitterness to go along. Coffee adds and extra kick and shines in the aftertaste and finishes this nice and clean. Thick and viscous mouthfeel with adequate carbonation. This is up there with the best coffee stouts around and it's on the shelf all the time. Stock up on this one!

A: center-pour into a large snifter: void black body; finger of dark foam slipped away but left a little frothy dark collar behind, some sticky lace motes clung just above the surface
S: dark roasted cocoa and espresso - as if they'd been ground together and brewed into beer
T: nicely dry and smoothly bitter dark roasted malt with lighter tones of wood hovering overhead; espresso flavors are rich and dominant, chocolate-iness is sublte and bitter more than sweet; the wood aging adds a nice sophistication to this very stout stout
M: creamy smooth and full-bodied; any stickiness is ameliorated by the dryness of cocoa, espresso, and oak
O: excellent craftsmanship is apparent - this is decadent, but avoids the cloying sweetness that some stouts fall prey to; very classy and elegant.
