22 oz bottle for $13 from 12/12, poured into a FFF Teku glass.

A: Dark brown to black, dark khaki head of 2+ fingers with great retention and lacing.

S: Espresso and roasty malts are quite aromatic. Some oak and vanilla as well. Nice nose.

T: Follows the nose well, strong on the roast malts and the espresso does not disappoint. Some oak and vanilla. No heat whatsoever, remarkable for the abv.

M: Thick but not as thick as it could be. Sticky, a tad dry, very smooth.

O: A great coffee, oak-aged RIS. I imagine it may be perfect with a bit more mouthfeel, possibly an added barrel and bourbon character. Still thoroughly enjoyed though, this is definitely wonderful, I would think it makes the world-class cut.

A-Black in the glass, two finger head that leaves behind nice lacing.

S-Coffee, good deal of it, chocolate, oak and roasted malt.

T-Coffee is at the forefront but does not dominate. Chocolate oak and roasted malt round it out.

M-Medium to heavy, nice carbonation and creamy.

O-A wonderful coffee oak aged beer. Not as good as BCBCS, but a serviceable substitute at a nicer cost as well

Bottle: 12-23-2013

A - Pours black. Has a very viscous appearance to it. Almost like it wants to cling to the inside of the bottle for a bit more, begging to live another day. A slight amount of brown head that fades relatively quickly. Lacing on the glass is nice. As I swirl it in my glass, it coats the glass walls like cough syrup would, leaving it's brown coat behind to slowly fall back into the mass.

S - All espresso. All day.

T - The obvious notes say hello from within. Espresso, chocolate, vanilla, and dark malt for me. Very tasty. As it warms the taste develops a bit and the different characters begin to blend nicely.

M - Smoooth. Absolutely one of the smoothest beers that I have had. Goes down smooth. Mouthfeel is full and abundant. Very little carbonation as expected.

O - A very good beer overall. Leaves the pleasant subtleties lingering in your mouth afterwards. The 9.5%ABV sneaks up on you a bit as it is very easy to drink. A great beer for a relaxing night.
