Poured from a 22 oz bottle with a bottled on date of 1/3/14; into a pint glass.
Appearance - pours a thick, motor oil black that builds a creamy mocha head. The head settles and leaves caked layers of lace!
Smell - cream, vanilla, some hazelnut and hints of espresso!
Taste - bold, robust coffee flavors; bitter dark chocolate and some vanilla bean!
Feel - body is not too heavy, and the 9.5% ABV is very well hidden! The bitterness and robust flavors are very enjoyable!
Overall - fantastic beer, though the price point will likely lead me to other options.

Pours a huge, extremely dark brown and firm head, topping a deep, coffee-bean-brown brew.

The aroma is everything this beer promises on the label: tons of espresso mixes with chocolate, with caramel, toffee, vanilla, and oak in the background.

Flavor is less rich and more balanced, but still features all of the above.
Chocolate up front, but it's less sweet and more bitter and dark.
Earthy hops provide some bite on the mid-palate, where the oak starts to come in.
Strong but smooth bitter, dark coffee bean finish, which also features a bit more of the oak, and a return of the chocolate flavor.
Roasted barley is represented throughout primarily by a chocolate flavor, but there are also plenty of roasted and toasted grains, providing a nice thick base brew.

Surprisingly thin feel, although it's still quite thick and silky. Absolutely no hint of alcohol. Bitter throughout, but not unbalanced; it's just a hop-forward and very roasty brew. Sticky, oily coating for a long finish. Not a particularly lively brew - no sting, no foaming - but that is not at all a criticism.

This is one of the better Yetis I've tried. The espresso definitely provides a rich depth of flavor and character, and the oak - while comparatively subtle - brings along nice notes. My personal take is that the Yeti series is too hop-forward, but with everything else going on in this beer, that provides a wonderful balance and bite to what otherwise might be too rich.
