Poured into a snifter. Pitch black with a tan 1/2 finger head that faded to a thin layer with a nice ring around the edge.
Smell had a smooth hint of whiskey and alcohol. Notes of raisin and dark chocolate. Some molasses and toffee presence as well. Nice bitter, burnt aroma. Some notes of vanilla as well.
Taste was extremely smooth. Good amount of whiskey and alcohol but the aging made it very very smooth to drink. Flavors of burnt malt and chocolate. Notes of raisin and toffee flavors backed by vanilla. Slightly bitter finish along with a solid malty sweetness.
Mouthfeel was medium/heavy with medium carbonation. Good finish with slight stickiness.
Drinkability, while very smooth, the 12.2% is noticeable in both flavor and effects
