A: The pour is a fairly clear straw color with a massive white head that eventually settles down.

S: Quite a lot of fruity esters to the aroma. Heavy on the banana and pear notes, but lots of citrus going on, too. There is a touch of tart apple and lemon peel and some light malt and straw. Very nice.

T: The flavor is somewhat light, but in a good/refreshing way. Banana sweetness followed by sweet pears. A touch of citrus peel bitterness, yeast, and light spices. A little bit of bready malt sweetness, too.

M: Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation and a crispness to the finish.

O: A really great saison. I found this to be a fantastic beer.

Not a style I often seek out at all,on a warm day like today I figured it might hit the spot.Poured into a tulip glass a hazed lemonade color with a great clingy two finger white head that left broken rings of lace as it settled slowly.Funky barnyard notes in the nose along with some iron/metallic,a whiff of lemon peel as well,some are big fans of the barnyard funk,Iam not.Flavors are funky but on a smaller scale,wet grain notes along with lemon pith, and honey,there is enough sweetness to keep the funk in check for me.A decent brew,again not a fan for a reason,but I grade it accordingly.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, delicately effervescent, golden body capped by a short-lived, white head.

Smell: Tangy-scented malted wheat interwoven with pleasantly aromatic notes of flowers, fruits, honey, and spice.

Taste: Ah, the tangy taste of malted wheat with a fair amount of whipped honey sweetness and garnished with wheat shafts and husks. Tastes of clove-spiced bananas, lemongrass, Kaffir lime leaves, and fresh, sliced Bosc pears. Hints of faux-fruity rice here and there. Perfumy, floral hops with a medium level of bitterness. Some of the various flavors drop out, leaving the peppery spiciness behind to pair well with the hop bitterness. Finishes crisp, dry, and a touch warming with some lingering tart and tangy hints.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium, but fairly crisp carbonation.

Drinkability: A fairly enjoyable, pleasantly drinkable saison given a slight American twist. Worth a try.

Foggy pastel yellow, darkening slightly and becoming opaque as the yeast is poured. The white foam evaporates quickly in the tulip glass. A thin white ring is all that's left, with a ghostly wisp of broken skim across the surface.

Floral, yeasty, phenolic, slight sulfur. Clove, coriander, daffodils.

Plenty of yeasty spice up front, dry and earthy in the middle. Clove and pepper spiciness, lemon cookie with a light weizen yeast sweetness and lingering impression of weeds or wildflowers. Faint aftertaste of clover honey. Well carbonated, slightly creamy. Interesting enough, not as dry and crisp as Belgian saisons, sweeter, more spicy and yeast driven.

A - Poured out a hazy, golden yellow color with a one finger, white, bubbly head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace.

S - It smelled of slight funkiness, yeast and sweet caramel. It had a spicy nose, too.

T - This was a nice spicy brew with a yeasty bite. The is a mild dried apple flavor with some grains and caramel.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a very dry finish.

D - This is a pretty good saison. Great Divide has done another great one.

GDBC's Saison pours a hazy yellow-gold body beneath a frothy head of bright white that settles into a creamy cap before quickly dissolving into an average collar. Long splashes and big spots lace the glass but vanish shortly.

The aroma expresses wheaty malt, a bit of vanilla and clove and sugary sweetness, a spritz of lemon, and a subtle bit of yeasty sulphur.

The flavor is gently tart with a bit of citrus, and then lightly malty before the vanilla and gently clove-like phenolics hit at the swallow. Some minor, leafy and grassy hops are present but never really step forward. The bitterness is kept in check, as it should be, but there's still enough there that it's solidly supported. It finishes dry, not just with hop bitterness, but with a bit of acidity.

In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently zesty with a fine-bubbled carbonation that gently bristles the tongue. It's refreshing, and fits perfectly well with the rest of the beer.

A - Two fingers of bone white head on top of a clear, light golden body. The foam settles quickly and leaves only light lace.

S - Musty european hop aromas with some pineapple and coconut yeast notes. White pepper, apricot, and a little bit of vanilla as well.

T - Spicy wheat up front with some pineapple and a little bit of musty funk. Peppery spice notes of clove and coriander appear in the middle with some vanilla and more wheat notes. Finishes very fruity; notes of vanilla, pineapple, apricot, and banana with light bitterness and some earthy/citrus hop notes. Lingering wheat and vanilla notes, as well as some citrus hops, coat the mouth in the aftertaste

M - Medium-thick body, moderately high carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish.

D - This is an excellent and very drinkable saison. The yeast character is wonderful, with the strong tropical fruit presence that I look for in a saison as well as some some clove and other spices to add depth. The hop character takes a back seat to the yeast, but it still noticeable (especially in the aroma) and more than capable of balancing the malt. This is an excellent example of the style and I would gladly drink it again if given the opportunity.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a cloudy light yellow color, with a short white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains spices, wheat, Belgian yeast, light caramelized malts, some citrus and some hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with flavors of Belgian yeast, wheat and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. Then some sweet flavors of citrus, spices and caramel come in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is dry but slightly sticky.

O: Tasty, goes down easily, not too filling, good kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to drink for a long time if you’re in the mood for the style.

12oz brown bottle with a bottled on date on the label.

Cloudy weathered hay color, crackling head at least holds a thick lacing on the glass. Dried pineapple, mango & papaya frutiness in the nose with biscuity malt a slight medicinal earthy yeast. Creamy body with a bit more smoothness than crispness. Malty palate meets and mild yeasty twang, earthiness and fruit in the back. Faint medicinal tone compliments more than being a big presence. A little spicy middle to end.

A lovely beer all around, I was hoping for a more dry and carbonated brew though the complexities make up for it.

A: Pours a huge pasty white head that makes me stop pouring, fluffy and fizzy, and fades pretty quickly over the clear golden wheat yellow color.

N: Light toasty malts, wheat, a little lemon zest and citrus, some creamy malt aromas, a little spicy hop, some yeasty aromas as well, with a little farmhouse saison aroma.

T: Lots of wheat and light malts, saison flavors, toasty malts, yeasty flavors with a little fruit even, dry spicy saison. Some cremy malts, a little sweet malt flavor with hints of booze, spicy flavors too.

M: Lighter body with tons of carbonation.

F: Very dry with hints of spicy saison flavors, little boozy warmth and tingle a little heavy booze for 7.3%. A little wheat flavors, some yeast and farmhouse flavors lingering, some bitterness with a touch of spicy hops and orange peel, even a bit of spices and coriander.

Pours a clearly hazed bright yellow golden hue with a large white tiny bubbled foamy white head. Fine speckled lacing left behind on the sides of my chalice. This one says it was bottled in April 2009 that's fine with me a style that probably does okay with a little age. Aroma has a nice yeast spiciness label states that they used a blend of 4 yeast strains, I'm definitely getting some Saison Dupont characteristics with a citrus/tropical fruitiness. Sharp wheat edge with a nice spiced backend, ample sweetness a touch of biscuit drizzled with honey that herbal spice component is intresting almost lavender with a touch of black pepper. Flavor is dominant with the spices but bursts of honey biscuit malt and tropical fruit pineapple blend nicely with the spiced herbal additions. Yeast gives it that funky peppery slightly nutty edge that overall works well together a perfect beer to combine with most foods. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy with tart and sweet sensation over the palate dry yeasty finish, moderate alcohol. Medium bodied carbonation carries this one quite well, not really cloying to me at all. Drinkability is solid all around very nice American brewed version sometimes this style can be pretty bad if not drinking a version outta of Belgium. Great Divide pulled it off very well and they put their own trademarks on it.

Was really let down by this one, review based on notes from last night..

Pours a semi-hazed straw color with a pinky of ivory colored head. Zero head retention & lacing

S: Grassy, orchard fruit & appleskins

T: Appleskins, a bit of lemon, potato peels, & grapefruit upfront, but in a very mediocre mix of flavors. Pineapple, candi sugar & near gag reflex triggering sweetness/dryness as this warms, along with more apple peels. Finishes too dry & sweet with a bit of golden delicious apple

MF: Medium bodied, low carbonation, didn't feels a rough as it tasted..

Drinks slow, unpleasing mix of flavors. ABv is well hidden, I'm not really too enamored of any of GD's Belgian styled offerings, this one just struck the wrong way, almost drain poured it...

Very, very light color in the pint glass, a washed out straw. Not a head to speak of, but sparkling carbonation fills the mouth.

Surprising sweetness. Apple juice and a hint of Hawaiian Punch. Papaya and lime peel. Mere hints of malt. So simple and pleasant with an acidic underpinning. Touch of the raspy Belgian flavor in the back of the mouth.

Extremely quaffable, just not very beery. On he whimsical side like a good Wit.

Cloudy dark straw color. Extensive initial head. Leaves slippery lace. Eventually dies down to a thin layer of minute bubbles.

Earthy like with stale sourness. Not very appealing.

Good Saison flavor, slightly wheaty. Lots of mild citrus, clove and pepper. Nice full body with an appropriate level of carbonation. Pleasant sour aftertaste.

The beer pours a hazy gold color with a towering white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a dry, peppery scent along with a light pale and wheat malt aroma. It's quite spicy with lots of yeast esters. The taste is decent as well. It's smooth with a nice pale, wheat, and Munich malt flavor. There is a bit of malt sweetness, but it's curbed with loads of yeast spiciness. It goes down easy with a dry, funky finish. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a medium/full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a pretty good saison. I'm not crazy with either the malt bill or yeast character.

The beer pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of Belgian yeast, with some lemon and white pepper notes. Overall, it smells about like a saison is supposed to smell. The flavor is also typical saison. I get a lot of yeast and pepper, as well as some biscuit malt. There is a little bit of light funk in the flavor. The beer is very dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
