12oz bottle, bottled on Feb 25 2014. Poured into a Boulevard tulip.

A: Cloudy, golden yellow with a big white head that receded quickly to a beefy ring at the glass edge and thin layer on the surface. Lots of lacing.

S: Citrusy, grapes, floral, wheat, earthiness. Nice appropriate funk to the nose.

T: Starts sweet, and turns slightly sour at the end. Bready. The wheat and citrus come through in a beautiful way, accented with a distinctly Belgian floral note. Very appropriately funky. Complex, not confusing.

M: Light, mildly carbonated. Tends toward the dry feel, finishes very clean, aftertastes are subtle.

O: I love the aroma, so subtle and inviting. The flavor profile is very complex, but everything is distinct and works together and each note is distinguishable and complements the others. This is a flavor symphony. The beer drinks easily. This American incarceration of a classic Belgian style rivals the best Belgians...and outshines many. This is truly an awesome beer.

Appearance: very cloudy deep golden color with a thin head that recedes quickly with miniscule lacing. Lots of yeast sediment floating in suspension, moderate carbonation.
Aroma: wheat and mild toasted barley dominated by a fruity aroma and significant yeast presence.
Mouthfeel: between light and medium bodied, finish is somewhat dry.
Flavor: very bready -- like eating a slice of bread that contains fruit and nuts. Alcohol is completely concealed -- therefore at 7.3% this beer could easily sneak up on you.
Overall: just an excellent, easily drinkable, refreshing, and delicious farmhouse ale.

Appearance - Pours a cloudy, straw yellow with a half finger of white head. Fairly Quick dissipation, resulting in a broken layer of suds across the surface. Virtually no lacing.

Smell - Yeasty Belgian aroma that hits on green apple tartness, light banana and a hint of spice.

Taste - Follows the nose. Green apple tartness at the forefront, with lesser notes of unripened banana. Zesty citrus notes. Light wheat undertone. Finishes with fruity twang and touch of spice.

Mouthfeel - Light in body with crisp, lively carbonation. Clean, semi-dry finish. Very nice drinker.

Overall - A nice saison, perfect for a hot summer day. Nothing I'd go out of my way for, but I could see myself putting away quite a few of these during a BBQ if Great Divide were to get distribution in Sacramento.
