The 22-ounce bomber bottle is trimmed in red foil, and when opened and briskly poured into my cool little Brewgrass tasting glass, yields a chestnut-colored brew with a glimmer of burnished copper twinkling at the edges. A trim cap of pale beige foam relaxes quickly into a thin ring that leaves only a few speckles of lacing clinging to the glass. Subsequent pours to the little glass yield a progressively hazier and darker-hued brew as the rested lees come into suspension.
The aroma is of candied-fruit sweet with a splash of overripe apple, molasses-covered banana, and a sprinkling of dark toffee. A note of chocolate becomes increasingly prominent as the drink tempers a bit.
The taste is also quite sweet, with gritty, powdery greenish banana accenting darker tones of milk chocolate and light roast coffee. A mellowing bit of toffee is dried by a touch of banana peel-type dryness and a spike or two of tangy clove.
The brew is medium-bodied but seems to drink a little heavier and slicker than that because of its copious sweetness and extremely fine-grained carbonation.

Damned thing almost exploded as I popped the cap, then literally filled my snifter with the head after roughly an ounce of beer hit the glass. The beer is a medium brown, very rich looking, in color; but all you notice is the huge head of slightly offwhite bubbles. All different sizes, all popping at different times.
Nothing Earth-shattering about the nose, it's not bad, just nothing exceptional. Standard issue banana and clove, with what must be cinnamon giving it more depth. All the usual hefe suspects are kept in line with an aggressive malt bill.
I totally dig the taste. Very malty, but it's got that nice yeasty tang to it and the aforementioned spice (has to be cinnamon) to balance the twang and add a little sweetness.
Medium-bodied, feels thick and creamy as it dances on the tongue. Tangy and sweet, faintly spicy with some heat at the end, mostly from the carbonation.
An extremely easy drinker. No real faults, the lack of smell is a minimal issue in my book. The style hasn't always been high on my list of must haves, but this beer may enter my normal rotation of drinks.
