Pours a pitch black soupy night with a big tan head that lingers and turns to ice cream and leaves good lacing.
Nose does have significant chocolate presence. Some roasted malt, but not alot. A clear hop presence is there as well.
Taste is quite good. A good chocolate presence (without being overwhelming) mingles well with mild roasted malt profile. As we approach the finish, the hops make their presence known and provide some good bitterness in a smoky sweet world without getting too crazy. Aftertaste lingers on with roasted malt, slight bitterness, and roasted malts.
Mouthfeel is solid here. Nice and creamy, really fits in with the chocolate vibe. Carbonation is just right.
Drinkability is solid as well. Drinks shockingly well for the abv, and the smooth creamy mouthfeel goes down easy without getting cloying or soupy.
Overall i am really impressed with this actually. When i saw it on shelves i though, oh great here goes great divide going crazy with yeti adjuncts, this is probably gonna suck. Shit, was i wrong. This isn't some out of this world uber beer, but its a great beer that i would drink any time and will definitely revisit. A fine and decadent concoction. Good work.
