Pours a solid black with a small tan head that lingers and laces.
Smells of oak blended with dark cherry, chocolate, sweetness, honey, and toasted bread.
Taste is oak and sweet, dark malt up front that goes into a sweet, roasty, slightly spicy middle with grapefruit notes and ends on a big alcohol and cayenne kick. There is also a hint of dark chocolate in the end. Good, but a bit boozy and it could use some time to help all the flavors blend some.
Full body with lower carbonation is right on for the style.
There is noticeable burn from the pepper and alcohol. Some of that goes to help balance the sweetness, but fresh I find this a bit too all over the place. Still, big, complex, and tasty. Beers like this make me wonder why I even bother hunting down the rarer releases.

LOOK: Pours really dark with a mocha creme head that laces the glass expertly. Decent clarity as far as sediment, but make no mistake, there's no seeing through this beer.
SMELL: Big and roasty. Lots of alcohol, black licorice, and dark chocolates.
TASTE: Chocolate, coffee, vanilla, oaky tannins, and booze. The strength of the beer is more tame in the flavor. Oak, raw chocolate, char and heavy malts. As it warms more chocolate and vanilla come out, getting close to candy bar and roasted marshmallow status. A small heat builds in your throat and belly from the heat of chiles and alcohol.
FEEL: Full bodied, medium carbonated, completely rich beer.
OVERALL: Chocolate Stout aged in oak with peppers. There's alot there.
