22oz bomber poured into a snifter. Bottled on date of 3-28-12. Allowed to sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes from the fridge before serving.
A- Pours a thick and dark black. About a quarter fingers worth of dark khaki head forms and that's it. The head dissipates only slightly to a nice film along the top. Lots of sticky lacing along the sides of the glass.
S- Smells like dessert. Alot of cocoa and chocolate notes come through. A little bit of the oaky/ wood characters come through at the back end of the smell. The alcohol is slightly noticeable also.
T- Up front is the chocolate and cocoa notes, just like in the smell. Moves along to a coffee like presence, before giving way to some hop-like kick in the backend, maybe the cayenne. The oak notes blend well with each phase of the taste.
M- Thick, chewy, a great dessert beer as one would guess. The alcohol is apparent but not overwhelming.
I've had quite a few of the Yetis now and this one is up there as one of my favorites, along with the regular oak-aged. The chocolate notes makes this one a treat.
