Bottle shared with Michael & Jane, and Darrell at Pizzeria Paradiso. Clear deep orange amber with a small white head, some lacing. Aroma of orange peel and malt. Tastes of bourbon, and very strongly so. Lots of oak, very dry, and a nice bitter finish. Needs to tone down the bourbon, and it would be a great beer.

A beautiful robust three finger head reaches the top of my glass with little effort. The rocky light tan foam recedes very slowly. Body is wonderful dark for an IPA with a burgundy woodsy tone to it. Nose is oaky and buttery with some back round resin based hoppy sap. It has a really well put together aroma. The flavor instantly falls in line with the nose as soon as you take first sip. With the rich buttery notes, and oaky tones that are very creamy smooth together. Hops play more of a balancing factor in this beer as a few months and the oak have toned them down a bit. This isn't a bad thing though, this is a very well rounded beer. Mouthfeel is of a bit of prickly raw oak feel with a bit of butter richness. For the style I find it to be nearly perfectly drinkable.
