Notes/Commercial Description:
Brewed with heavy handed additions of Pacific Northwest hops, this beer is gently aged on French and American oak resulting in a wonderful balance of bitterness, caramel sweetness, vanilla, and undertones of pine and citrus.

Rumble IPA
12 oz brown bottle
Served in a 20 oz tulip glass

Pours a burnt peach color with a hazy tint and a moderate sized head on top. Nice spots and trails of lace.

Interesting whiffs of citrus fruits with some wet wood whiffs.

Caramel malt backbone with some flavors of orange and bitter lime. A hint of pine cone and pepper. Finishes rather smooth with an oak aged profile.

I really like Great Divide, this is another good beer from this brewery.

Poured into Dogfish spiegelau glass.

Looks like the amber the mosquito was trapped in from the original jurrasic park. Decent smell, definitely some vanilla in there with caramel and malt. Taste follows the nose. More bitter than the smell would lead to believe with some slight pine. Not much oak present. More vanilla in the nose than in the taste.

From a 355 ml bottle (bottle March 31, 2014) into a tulip.

A-A slightly aggressive pour produces about one and one-half fingers of dirty-white foam. Retention is not great, but the head leaves a nice layer of sticky lacing on the way down. The beer is dark orange in color and mostly clear. I can see a stray bubble or two in there.

S-The smell is a malt-forward (for an IPA) mixture of caramel, bread, and toast. The hops are pretty subdued with a little bit of citrus, floral scents, and leafy notes mixing in with malty sweetness. I do not get much oak.

T-The taste is similar to the smell with a heavy-for-the-style malt presence of caramel and toast. The hops are lightly citrus-flavored and I get a bit of bitter leaf and pine, as well some floral, tropical notes. Very little in the way of oak.

M-The feel is a nice, medium body with a lightly crisp carbonation and just a bit of oily coating.

O-I cannot say this is my favorite IPA. While I all for balance between malt and hop, this brew was just too heavy on the malt; the hops were mostly background chatter. I also did not get much in the way of oak on the nose or the palate. On the plus side, this beer is good-looking and has a nice, easy-drinking feel.

Poured from a bottle a little over a month old. Looks Amber in the glass and got a finger of off white head that dissipated quickly.

Smells like caramel from the malt and just a very slight smells of vanilla. Not a lot if hops smell on the nose.

Taste reminds me of Titan ipa. Slightly more bitter and I do pick up the oak and vanilla characters slightly
