Pours a light copper with a big head that laces. Crystal clear.
Smells of piney hops with small hints of malt. It has a big hop aroma but the big smell isn't super pleasing. The smell is almost chalky from the hops and oak.
Tastes up front hop pine with some bitterness and then a slight oak flavor creeps into the middle, and it finishes with some residual sweetness on the tongue.
Mouthfeel is good. Medium body with a nice level of carbonation...any more and the tannin/oak would really cut through.
This is a nice IPA with small oak character and a bigger pine-hop note. I'm not getting the citrus they mention. Anyway, it's good, but the hops used in this brew don't really win me over, and since there isn't a lot going on in terms of malt profile, it stands as just a solid beer for me.
