Meant to get around to reviewing this beer for a while now.

A- Deep orange/red color with sticky white head. Exceptional lacing. Spiderweb head throughout entire session. Not a ton of bubbles so expecting it to be lighter in carbonation.

S- Interesting aroma with some subtle pine and citrus notes. Vanilla and caramel in the middle with some wood and booze on the finish. Enticing aroma but not overly strong.

T- Opens with oak and vanilla. Piney hops in the middle. Some dank hoppiness, more wood and a touch of booze near the end. Very different and delicious. Better as it warms.

M- Sticky and medium bodied. Modrrate to lower carbonation. Nice.

O- A good example of a wood aged beer. Nice vanilla and oak notes with a moderate hop bitterness/flavor. Great beer for the end of a long day; nice and complex. Great cold but exceptional as it warms, the oak comes out closer to room temp.

Pint at Freshcraft.

I was weary of this one as I really dislike the Great Divide Oak-aged Anniversary IPAs, but it wound up being quite tasty.

A - Nice clarity to a golden brew. Tall head with some serious staying power.

S - Subtle hop bitterness and smooth pale malts.

T - The wood is more silky and dry than something which produced much flavor. The hops are piney and floral.

M - Crisp, dry, oaky.

Dark orange, white, good foam.
In the smell hop, light, fresh, not excessive. Lightnotes of vanilla.
At the taste too, not a hop bang. It is rounded by a light vanilla, and wood. Caramel. Smoth and round.
Pleasant and fresh, quite citric hop.
Light to average body.
Vanilla in the aftertaste, piney and resinous.Balanced and pleasant.

Pours an orange amber with a large lasting beige head, good lacing to the end. Aroma and Taste of dark caramel malt, earthy piney hops, yeast, some grapefruit and a bit of subtle oaky wood notes in the flavor. A medium to full body with a smooth mouth feel and moderate carbonation. Finish is sweet dark caramel malt, yeast, earthy piney hops on the end with some slight flavor of lingering oak flavor. This brew seems to be well balanced between the dark malts and the subtle hops. Overall a very good and enjoyable brew. nicely done

a cloudy amber pour with visible yeast particles floating around (it's nice to see this from a major brewery since it's a lot like a homebrew!) with a nice amount of off white head causing sticky lacing.
smell bready, tinny, citrusy (orange) and floral aromas rise up as it warms up. tastes bitter as sin up front with a sweet malty backbone - has a bit of an asparagus taste with some hints of caramel.
medium bodied with thick sticky head and a nice amount of carbonation leaving a tingle in the roof of your mouth.
overall, a nice heavy tasting beer/good sipping beer.

I'm a huge fan of Great Divide, but I'm just not getting this beer.

It doesn't taste like an IPA at all, and I'm not sure I'm really detecting the oak it was aged in. There's some sweetness, but nothing like the other oak aged beers I've tried. The bitterness that you would expect in an IPA doesn't come until the very end, and the mid-palate is kind of empty. So, in my mind, this is a bit unbalanced. I will say, however, that my beer is either unfiltered or this is an off bottle, because there are flakes of sediment(?) floating in my glass!
