Well, the Claymore was in cask--hand pump--tonight, and was aged in/on (?) some oak. Thought I'd review it b/c it's a bit different than the normal.
Pours a dark, rich caramel color. Cloudy cloudy. Soapy off brown/tan head. Little lacing and head disappears rather quickly.
Aroma is wood and caramel, some alcohol. Semi-sweet.
Taste is lack luster. The original claymore was nice, but I think the oak plus cask really smooths things out, not for the better. But this doesn't mean it's a bad beer. It is very smooth. Caramel is there with oak overtones, but not as powerful as Samael from Avery.
Feels flat, carbonation seems gone. Very smooth. Light. Makes it easy drinking though
