A- Pours a nice medium amber color w/ a caramel two finger head that lingers. Lots of big bubbles in the head. Nice lacing, and moderate carbonation. Nice looking beer...
S- Smell is floral, with hops and fruit. Maybe some pine smell in there as well. A very nice smelling beer. Close to 4.5, but not quite. If the smell was a little stronger, I'd up the score. Wouldn't change anything about the balance though.
T- Totally different than the nose. Lots of woody-ness in the taste. Malt, hops, fruit in the nose is totally absent, along w/ any alcohol taste. At 10%, that's surprising. I actually like the nose better than the taste. It's not bad though, just not outstanding.
M- Very woody and malty feeling. Not great, but not bad either. The woody-ness is a little much, but I guess that's what this beer is about.
O- Not a bad beer, but the woody-ness is a little overwhelming for me. Worth checking out, but I proabably won't pick this one up again.

Darker than ipa appearance, maybe the wood bled. Aroma was definitely woody, had some pine aromas too aside from whatever kind of wood it was.
Lots of crystal malt, heavy, still highly hopped. Its a big beer, the alcohol was not faint. Really just a big dipa, heavy malt, heavy bitterness and some wood chips. Not all that fancy, good, but who wanted to drop that kind of coin on a bomber dipa.

Reviewed from tasting notes taken 1-7-12:
L: Pours reddish amber with a slight chill haze that clears up as it warms. 1” cream colored foam collar grips the side of the glass.
S: Spicy, floral hops, light citrus, light malts.
T: Starts with rich malt and then rich citrus rind bitter flavors emerge seasoned with vanilla.
F: Medium full body, medium carbonation.
O: A big, boisterous DIPA.
