The appearance really did look good, but the taste is another story.
I'm usually a fan of oak-flavored IPAs. This wood-aged IPA was somewhat too "woody" for my taste. It had a peculiar aftertaste that I can't quite describe. It's as if it's been aged way too long to the point where you will have to let it "breathe" like you would do to an aged pinot noir.
It's always fun to try new beer, and since this is an anniversary brew, I doubt I'll drink anything like this again. It'll be one-off thing for me, and probably so for everyone else.
