Poured into a pint glass. Label says bottled on: MAR 20 2012
A- Pours a medium copper color with a 3/4 inch off-white head that retains well before slowly fading to an 1/8 inch of head with many small bubbles in a cluster. Sticky, intricate lacing.
S- Musty, herbal hop aroma with some malt holding things together. Notes of oak and a slight metallic smell.
T- The wood comes through a lot more in the taste bringing an astringent flavor to the table that hints at Band-aid and rubber. Alcohol is kept in check quite well as the bitterness ensues on the palate and lingers a good while. Toasty malt comes through here and there but is pretty much overwhelmed by the bitterness and oak.
M- Tight and tingly. Oily and slick, too. Medium-high carbonation.
O- Quite good, but I remember last year's being better. I think some age would do it good.
