The body was reddish copper in color, clear, and exhibited a two finger thick head. The smell was prototypical DIPA, with citric hops, pine, and tropical fruits. The taste is where the wood aging showed itself clearly, with a vanilla, oak, and wood tannin being quite evident. After the initial wood attack, there was some hop presence, but it was pretty muted for a DIPA. Very drying finish and a short one at that. Mouthfeel was medium thick, and not too sticky. A mild variation on the style due to the aging before bottling. I prefer my DIPA's green and more hop forward.
