From a 355 ml bottle (dated June 12, 2014) into a tulip. Reviewed from notes dated July 21, 2014.
A-The beer is very light in color with a chill haze. The short white head fades after a minute to a film on the top with a bit of lacing left behind on the glass. There is a stray bubble visible in the beer.
S-The aroma is refreshing, but a touch mixed-up. I sniff some lemon, a vague Belgian-style yeast, orange, bread dough, toast, and a touch of spice.
T-The taste is similar to the smell...pleasant, but somewhat busy. There is orange, spice, and dough like you might expect from a wit, but also some toast flavors and a vague medicinal bitterness. The hoppy flavors taste a bit out of place.
M-The feel is medium to full in body on the palate (for the style) with lower levels of carbonation.
O-This beer is refreshing enough, but I think it tries to do too much. The mixture of hoppy, almost-IPA flavors doesn't jive well with the witbier flavors. That being said, this beer is far from a drain pour and drinks well enough on a hot summer day. I could see this pairing well with Thai food.
