a - poured a one finger thick, creamy dark coffee-colored head into a snifter that settled to a thin ring. the body was dark black.
s - chocolate covered raisins.
t - oatmeal and roast with the raisins coming through.
m - creamy and viscous.
o - terrific take on yeti. the oatmeal and raisins are well done and go great with yeti. the color of the head was amazing.

part of me was surprised to learn that regular yeti wasn't already made with oatmeal, its already so smooth and big, i figured it had to be. huh. anyway, this edition is awesome, a little sweeter from the oats, and although I'm not sure i can taste raison specifically, they definitely add some stuff to it. same inky black color they all have, dense and determined. short mocha head but its easily raised with a gentle swirl of the glass. the nose has a strange almost citrusy component that carries through to the taste. right in the middle there is a sharp hit of citrus. orange zest or ripe ruby red grapefruit, not sure if that comes from the raisins or what, but its potent and turns into bitterness as the beer swallows. we sometimes forget this has a whole lot of IBUs, and it shows a little more in this version. still, a nice vein of sweetness from the oats running through it and wonderful mouthfeel velvety and dry. raisins add an almost fibrous, gummy texture to it, which doesnt sound so good, but it really is neat on the palate. that dry stone fruit thing is there too, subtle, but it is. chocolate notes and coffee too, its as complex as ever, but with a few new wrinkles. worth picking up for sure. its delicious.
