22 oz bottle into a pint glass.

A: Pours a pitch black color. The head is a finger high, with a khaki shade. Retention is quite decent for the style, and a goodly amount of lacing clings to the glass.

S: I really pick a strong oatmeal character here. Everything else about smells like classic Yeti (seriously, dat chocolate/roast/umami), but the oatmeal really gives it another stand-out note. As a minor disappointment, I don't pick up much raisin. Otherwise, this is just a very nice imperial stout...as expected from the Yeti.

T: Yep, this tastes like Yeti. The difference being the oatmeal gives it a touch of lightness, and a noticeably grainy finish. The oatmeal seems to expose some of that classic Yeti hoppiness some more, bringing more floral/piny flavors to the forefront. I said it was grainy (and it is), but it doesn't have the harsh fusel notes of other big oatmeal stouts. Just like in the nose, I don't pick up many raisin flavors. Still, the complexity and decadence of this beer is superb.

M: To me, this seems a bit lighter in body than other Yeti variants. But the oatmeal still gives it a superb creaminess which I love in an imperial stout. Carbonation stays in the background, as expected from the style.

O: It's a Yeti, I know exactly what I'm gonna get here. It's a small step down from something like, say, Espresso Oak Yeti, simply because I'm not a huge fan of imperial oatmeal stouts and their graininess. I'd have more trouble killing a bomber of this than the other Yeti variants, let's just say that. Still, it's a great imperial stout, one that's well worth buying.

Pours a dark, oily brown color with an off white head. The aroma is dark and roasty with elements of coffee, chocolate, char and grain. In the taste, roasted malts, oatmeal and booze are the big players, a little dark fruit and a scant bitterness. A lot of oat flavor is here, understandably, and adds to the sweet grain element going with the roast and heat. Full bodied, smooth, and creamy, the beer drinks easily. Overall, this is a nice example of an imperial oatmeal stout, its like breakfast for the daring at heart.

From a 650 ml bottle (dated June 19, 2014) to a snifter.

A-The brew is opaque and nearly black. No light getting through here. The head is short, but retention is good and there is even a bit of lacing on the glass.

S-The aroma is rich and dense with dark chocolate, some creaminess, a light char-roasted flavor, as well as some raisin and prune. Bitterness is pretty high, but more from hop flavor than roasted or smoke.

T-The taste is similar to the smell. It is dense and opulent with dark, dried fruit (raisins and prunes), blueberry, some dark chocolate, and milky chocolate. The famous Yeti hop hit also creeps in among the malts. The finish is a touch rough and hot compared the opening with some alcohol burn.

M-The feel is medium to full body with mostly smooth carbonation of average strength for the style.

O-Ho hum, another Yeti variant and another great beer. The oats don't really come through on their own, but they add a noticeable smoothness and richness to the beer that is not there in the normal version. This beer also has more dark fruit than normal Yeti, as you might expect. All that smoothness falls off a bit on the finish, but this is still a very fine beer.
