I hadn't been to Great Divide since they expanded the tap room. They certainly did a great job. Now you can sit and have a beer and look directly into the brewhouse through big clean windows. The only gripe I have had with Great Divide now and in the past is that they don't usually have anything unusual on tap. Places like Avery and ODells will generally have things on tap that a unique to the tap room. At GD they generally have all of their production beers on tap, which are delicious, but doesn't give me any impetus to godown there more regularly. That being said I do love their beer as well as the pizza from the wood oven that regularly parks out front.

Stopped here early on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. Having been a fan of GD beers for quite awhile now, I was pretty excited to check the place out.
At first glance the ambience was pretty unremarkable, but there was plenty of energy with a packed room of 20 to 30 somethings. In fact, it was body-to-body full. There is also an outdoor section, but at about the width of a sidewalk, doesn't alleviate much of the indoor crowding. The bartenders were great - responsive and competent despite the crowds. In fact, I would say some of the best I can remember in my many brewery/brewpub visits.
Otherwise, the beer selection was good - I didn't see anything in the way of one-off taproom only type beers, but 6-8 Great Divide beers on tap is a very good thing no matter which they happen to be. As a whole, it was a good beer drinking experience, but would have been much improved had there been adequate room to stand, let alone sit. Given the downtown location, I'd expect they would look to gain more space, but then again, my experience was limited to a single visit.
