On tap at TJs and poured into a 10 oz tulip glass.
Like many American takes on a saison, this one is crisp and clear throughout the body. Golden in color, this is a pretty looking beer, with a full 1.5 inches of creamy and fluffy foam on top. Some streamers work their way up through the bright body of the beer before contributing to a thin film of bubbles on the surface that remains after the head subsides.
The aroma is bone dry. Not a hint of sweetness here at all. There is some wheaty character, along with lemongrass, peach esters, and some earthy and grassy hops. True to form, there are some spices in there, too, though they are more accentuated on the palate. The flavor follows close to the aroma, though clove and white pepper manifest themselves more potently here. This goes nicely with the dry feeling/flavor of the finish, as it adds some extra depth. The hops are earthier than they are grassy, and the lemongrass fades to the yeast characteristics.
As I've noted before, this is extremely dry in the finish. Well carbonated, this hits the mark for Belgian styling. All the while, it is still very easy to drink at 7%, with only a touch of warmth as the beer passes cellar temp. Another solid offering from Dock Street.
