Some may knock The New York Times and their political leanings, however I read it daily and love it. It was an article on great beer bars in New York City, that lead me to the Blind Tiger, although I have walked by it hundreds of times over the years without stopping in.
I went there on a Saturday afternoon at about 3 in the afternoon. The place was already crowded, but I managed to sneak an elbow on the bar to order a Brooklyner Hefe-Weisse. Very nice beer, it was perfect for the middle of the afternoon. They had a good draught selection of nearly 30 taps. I did not have any bottles, but that selection was even larger. They had cards, where several customers where making tasting notes for themselves. It was evident that the Blind Tiger has many regular customers and with a great atmosphere, friendly staff and a great selection of beer it was easy to see why.
