This is a Sam Smith's pub right off Portobello Road.

Beer selection is all nitro Sam Smith's stuff (Alpine Lager, Sovereign Best Bitter, Extra Stout, Old Brewery Bitter, Winter Ale, etc). Also cider. Bottles were Taddy Porter, Nut Brown Ale, Oatmeal Stout. There were some spirits, but I didn't check them out. Wine as well, but that's not why I was here.

The atmosphere was outstanding, and was a fabulous introduction to English pubs, as this was pretty much our first stop off the plane. The bar is in the front room, and in the back is a lounge area with tables, couches, comfortable armchairs, a fireplace (lit), and a bunch of mirrors, artwork, and charm. While we were there, three young mothers wheeled their strollers inside, sat at the couches, had a glass of wine, and fed their infants.

I could stay here all day. When I go back, I just might. What else do you need? Good food and a quiet, comfortable room? Beer? A comfortable chair to sit back in? This place has all of the above.

Best fish and chips I had in London (it's actually quite easy to find very sketchy fish and chips--this place was great). Even the peas were good here (not mushy peas).

Service was the same as most pubs: there isn't any. You order everything from the bartender, and he delivers the food, but there's no constant checking up on you. And if you want something, you have to either flag him down, or else you go to the bar yourself. But I'm not docking this place points for that, as that's just how it is in London. It's kind of nice to not be doted over. Tipping is not mandatory or expected in these instances, but they seem genuinely appreciative when you do.
