A: Poured with a small, off-white head. Body is dark brown and mostly clear... a very slight amount of haze is present.
S: Malts come through as a roasted (or event burnt) coffee smell, and some hints of chocolate as well.
T: Kind of your basic brown flavors... roasted malt and coffee, but they're both pretty light and not really jumping out to set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Still, very decent.
M: Medium-bodied and creamy, with soft-to-average carbonation.
D: Very easy to drink, but I was expecting a little more. Worth trying at least once, but there's a lot of better browns to try.

Poured into a glass mug, the appearance was a slight dark brown color with a muddy effect to it. Topped by a slim cap of off-white foamy head, it slid off fairly nice. Some messy lace.
The aroma had some earthy/spicy hops with some shoe leather playing with some dried biscuity/dark bready character here and there.
The flavor pulled together the earthy/spicy hops to the malts and added in a level of bitterness that was enjoyable. Aftertaste was dark toast and eatthy/spicy hops.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. Some grip along my tongue with the bitterness from the hops. Finishes with some earthy/spicy hops and a touch of dark bready toast.
Overall, pretty good American brown ale and worthy to have again if possible.

On tap from Cactus Mexican restaurant and it went really, really well with the mole on top of s squash enchilada.
Before the food arrived the beer did and it Looked a bit over average with only a modest foam. Smells and Tastes were very balanced, malt roasted and blended; needing not much Northwest hops. Sat nicely in the mouth, inviting more food.

22 oz bottle served in a pint glass.
Pours clear, dark copper with a sudsy beige head that has very good durability and leaves plenty of lacing on the glass.
A mix of sweet malts and spicy hops in both the aroma and the flavor. This is more hoppy than average for style but only marginally more bitter, if that.
Medium body with medium+ carbonation.

Looks pretty good on the pour but the smell and bitterness is unappealing for a Brown Ale. For me, I'd give this one a miss unless there are no alternative brown ales.

Nice American brown. Slightly lighter in color than many Browns. Typical brown roasted malt goodness but with a surprising hoppy complexity.
