I poured this beer into my tumbler at 45 degrees and then poured it into the sink. The beer poured a dark amber color and at first I was hopeful.. The tan head looked inviting but the smell soon as it hit my lips was all telling. The beer smelled sour and reeked. The taste was also bad and sour like buttermilk gone bad. I will never buy this beer again.

Pours from the bottle with a translucent but medium-dark, reddish brown color and a foamy, sand-colored head. The aroma has a light malty sweetness and maybe a little grassy bitterness. It's pleasant, but there's not much there. The flavor has a good bit of roast for a brown ale, with a kind of toasted walnut character, only a little bit of grainy sweetness, and a little astringency that lends to a dry finish. The fine, light carbonation contributes to a thin body, which is good since the beer could come off a bit heavy otherwise. Overall, this is a dry, nutty, and reasonably complex brown ale, but not a standard setter.

I bought a bottle of Diamond Kntt Brown Ale in a bottle shop. Poured in to a pint glass.

Pours an Irish Setter brown color, clear with a thick off-white head.

Smell is a sweet malt aroma, with a strange acerbic vinegar and dill aroma.

Taste is a mild caramel flavor up front, with a wet bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is crisp and not cloying. Appropriate for the style.

Overall the smell and taste are a bit off. As brown ales go I have had better, and I'm not sure I'd have this again.

22 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a beautiful, clear dark brown color with 2 fingers of oatmeal colored head that slowly quickly dissolved into a quarter finger of foam that gripped the sides of the glass and covered the top of the beer in wispy clouds.

Aroma: Really strong aromas of roasted malt and barley, like freshly baked bread. There notes of caramel, toffee and walnuts finished by some floral notes of honey and clover.

Taste: Much thinner on the taste than the aroma. Malty notes forward, followed by some slight caramel sweetness and finished by some pronounced hoppy bitterness. However, the flavors fade quite quickly.

Mouthfeel: Medium, with some good carbonation to tickle the taste buds. With an ABV of only 6.0%, there’s virtually no alcohol presence on the palate.

Overall: Pretty decent brown ale, but also pretty forgettable. Wouldn’t turn it away if offered, but I’m not looking for it either.

This Brown Ale is a good ale, it is a bit short on the finish but it is a good all around beer. I would expect any beer from the PNW to be at least this good, that is not always the case but this one is holding the standard to measure the rest by. Won't be disappointed buying this!

Had at the brewpub in Mulkitea.

Nice but typical caramel brown appearance. Nose is mild toffee and hops florals. Taste is unexpected, surprisingly bitter for a brown. Good though, probably enjoyed by hopheads more than commercial brown fans.

Nice crisp finish, bitters on the tongue.

Poured from 1 pt 9 oz bottle. Good carbonation and lacing. Attractive appearance.

Unfortunately the flavor was off putting. A brown ale should be nice and malty, but this ale had a distinct and unbalanced hop bitterness. Any malt flavor was overpowered by a strange soapy indistinct flavor leaving a bad impression in the mouth,

Probably would not buy this again.
