Not really a lager, but ale that imitates a lager style.

5.6% ABV. per bottle label.I bought this thinking I was getting a Vienna lager,it says ale on the bottle!Iam not sure where to categorize this.Poured into a becker a copper/bronze with a large fluffy slight off white head that settled into frothy mass leaving a full ring of lace behind as it settled slowly.Sweet fruit ale esters in the nose, much sweetner than expected,a little vienna lager-like doughiness as well.Starts out sweeter on the palate with juicy fruit flavors followed with some drying spiciness in the finish,it gets a little toasty after a bit as well.It has some Vienna lager qualities but its a little to fruity and sweet.its still a decent Ale.

For a Vienna lager, this pour sure was a murky brown that didn't gleam or provide much clarity. Aroma was fucked. Balsamic vinegar, metal, just really bad.

All that vinegar metal death metal band comes out in the taste. Everything about this beer was far below what an average Vienna lager should be like, much less any beer.

I was interested in this as I love a good Vienna but this is not a good beer at all and it's a terrible example of a Vienna, tasting nothing like what I had expected.

Dark gold/pale amber, it has a big off-white head soon thinning to a foamy ring no lace. It looks all right, not great but consistent with a Vienna.

Aroma is decent but also not great, caramelised barley toast, wet hay, hint of soap.

Taste is dreadful, ultimately settling into nothing but concord grape juice (think Welch's purple grape juice) with a hint of bread dough. In more detail, it has a slightly lemony-sour and caramelly element up front at first, hint of grain, and hint of yeasty, light sharp bitterness at the end which lingers but overall that concord grape character really dominates and that's not good here. It is thin and watery of character and feel.

Pours a light coppery red color with a big head of fluffy white foam over two inches high. Patchy lacing remains after the head subsides to a slightly chunky film.
Smell is metallic, grainy, bubblegum and some lemon. Reasonably well balanced but not great.
Taste is grainy, metallic, citrus (lemon mostly), some yeast. Balance is good but the flavors aren't.
Medium body, lighter effervescence, combined with the lemon note, makes it seem like there is lemonade mixed into this. I hate that. I really wish this wasn't a bomber right now. Explains why it was only $4, too.

Pours a thin head on a cloudy medium straw colored body.
The aroma is spicy biscuits and lemon. Really nice.
The taste is sweet upfront with a sour middle. I'm not sure if it's intended to be sour... After a few more drinks of this I'm unable to keep drinking it. The sour cannot be right.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
Maybe it was a bad batch. I'll try it again in a year or two.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: rich golden hue with a very light haze and a moderate effervescence. Head is a finger of frothy white foam which is dissipating somewhat rapidly. Not too bad!

Smell: very nutty and bready malt character, with a little bit of biscuity aroma. Not bad, but more along the lines of a nut brown ale than a Vienna lager (or ale, or whatever this is supposed to be). Vienna is a bit toasty, though, so this isn't wholly out of character.

Taste: much like the aroma, it's very toasty and bready. It's quite biscuity too, which is a characteristic that is not usually my favorite, but here it seems to work. The overall effect is earthy; almost like a copper ale. An odd beer, stylistically.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a quite-decent creaminess. Not bad at all.

Overall: to me, very drinkable for such a biscuity beer. Not perfect, but you could do a lot worse.

22oz bottle

A- Poured into a pint glass. Pours a hazy golden orangish color with an off-white head with decent retention and lacing.

S- The aroma is toasted malts and an odd tartness that seems out of place.

T- The taste like the aroma has sweet slightly toasted malts up front with that touch of tartness in the finish.

M- The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a high amount of carbonation.

O- Overall, there just seemed like there was something "off" in this brew. Judging by some of the other reviews, it doesn't seem like it was unique to my bottle or batch. Not something I would purchase again.
