No obvious bottled on date, but probably fresh given the source of a great local bottle shop, Market of Choice. Pours thick and black with good carbonation for a stout. Tan head dissipates rather quickly, leaving a little bit of light lacing. Smell is booze and cherries and a little bit of milk chocolate. Taste comes off pretty much the same, with the pinot barrels adding the little bit of cherry tartness at the end. Mouthfeel comes off quite well for an imperial aged stout; big and full bodied, with only a little bit of carbonation. Overall, a little sweet on the finish. The booze is only present on the nose, and i think that it could use a little bit of a higher percentage to take care of the sweetness.Very well done overall.Hit their marks if this is what they were going for. It is hard to make a beer over 10% that doesn't come off too boozy, and they have done a great job. Thanks Moa!
