500mL bottle - best before 15th October 2015. Poured into a teku glass.

Assuming a 12 month shelf life, this brew is a shade over four months old - however only appears on shelves in the UK this week.

A (4.5): Pours an impossibly clear golden orange. Beautifully transparent - who says that filtering beers is a bad idea? Half finger head that quickly dissipates, leaving nice lacing on the glass.
S (4): Kiwi hops for sure on this one - at least from my palate. The exact hop recipe is a secret (why?). Extremely fruity - passionfruit, citrus, orange. Some bready notes. No in your face bitterness that I was hoping for - possibly due to the bottle's age. Reacts well to a nice swirl in the glass, producing a more dank aroma.
T (4.25): A lot maltier than I was expecting. The hops don't leave an oily layer on your tongue like the crispest IIPAs. After a few sips, the maltiness starts to compliment the fruity hops quite nicely. Becomes sweeter as it warms up.
M (4): Medium body, fairly crisp. Medium carbonation.
O (4.25): Expecting something particularly crisp given the filtered appearance, however does not disappoint. More akin to an east coast IIPA - it does not have the brash bitterness of a west coaster. The cleanest tasting IIPA I've drunk since Enjoy By 14.02.15, but a world apart in flavour. Holds up pretty well considering journey it has taken to find its way into my glass.

A: Clear, golden orange hue. I believe this one’s been filtered folks.
S: Fruity, loaded with hops.
T: Sweet and piney. Can’t really detect the alcohol. Well balanced.
M: Bitter finish, but not overwhelming. The fruit flavor carries through quite nicely as well.
O: This is an incredibly nuanced IPA. One of the best I’ve ever had.

Hop zombie with a label that says hops.... More hops.... It could've used more hops, I found it drank more like an ISA than an IIPA

Look - poured into a sniffer with a white head that went away pretty quick. Has a bright golden orangish color with just a slight amount of bobbles.
Smell - fantastic fruity hoppy smell. Very tropical with a good citrus scent.
Taste - very hoppy with a tropical fruit taste just like the smell. A little bit of citrus and slight pine.
Feel - initially crisp medium body then moves to a creamy medium carbonated feel.
Overall - fantastic double ipa. I love the tropical fruit smell and taste. I've heard this will be the new evolution of IPAs.

Bottled beer served in a glass.

Appearance -
crystal clear golden colour, pours a thick lasting 2cm head, plenty of carbonation, leaves lots of sticky lacing

Smell -
Passionfruit, mango, pine, citrus, hops, pineapple, apricots.

Taste -
Lots of hops. Starts off with plenty of citrus, apricots, toffee and a bit nutty. Goes down quite hoppy with a cut grass after-taste - big on hops and tropical fruit flavours. The bitterness is quite controlled however and it's quite sweet thanks to a high ABV. Not as hoppy as expected however.

Mouthfeel -
Prickly effervescence on the tongue, moderate body, a bit creamy on the way down, clean, crisp and refreshing.

Overall -
A very attractive looking double IPA big on hops and fruit, which is very refreshing. The bitterness is quite balanced for a DIPA. A great beer, but I was expecting something more unique and out there given the branding and concept.

This is the best IPA I have ever had. Amazing hop profile with the NZ hops, very light on malt (a good thing IMO). Drinkability that is second to none. Great nose. Great color. Perfect citrus hop bite. Yes this is better than Heady, Pliney, Hopslam etc.
