Pours a golden amber colour, very mild haze to it. Head is cream-coloured, dense and retaining a beautiful crown on top. Very nice-looking IPA.
Big, tangy NZ hop character. Floral, fruity and pleasant with just a touch of ethyl alcohol on there as well; could just be mistaking the hop resins though.
Taste is more NZ hoppy goodness upfront; tangy with passion and pine on there. Develops a heavier edge towards the back, bit boozey with some phenols and quite a bitter finish. Decent IPA flavour but the palate falls a little short and I'm left with a slight hang that doesn't need to be as strong as it is. Simple concept, and nice though.
Feel a bit of booze too, maybe a little lacking in the body. Otherwise decent IPA texture.
Nice IPA, but to me it's just another NZ IPA from Epic. Doesn't quite reach the highs of Hop Zombie.

Pours amber with a large, fading head.
Nose shows spicy and piny hops along with citrus fruits. Underneath is clean malt.
Flavours showcase the hops, with more pine and strong grapefruit. Some clean malt is noticeable underneath, but overall it's quite dry, with an assertive bitterness in the finish.
Body is perfectly light, but not thin.
A good brew for summer.

Pale oxblood with just a ribbon of film.
Big Cali candied orange nose.
Candied apple and lots of Earl Grey citrus (there's a tannic thing in there) then tangerine hops.
Dried rind finish and oily linger. Light to medium, crisp, oily, some chew.
Zythos is a proprietary pelleted hop blend, using by itself here, and right away that made me suspicious for both the gimmick potential and lack of transparency. Turns out it's nothing special: resiny C-hop taste, but nothing more. It is lovely resin, though.

Had on-tap at the GABS festival in Melbourne.
Lovely pour: pale hazed orange with a firm body, and a full, gorgeous head of yellowish-white foam. Lacing is excellent, forming full sheeting rings around the glass. Carbonation is very solid, giving a vibrancy to the beer. Looks great.
Slightly rubbery on the nose, otherwise with something of a devolution to generic US hops. Clean citrus and some greenness, giving a prominent character of cucumber. It's quite spiky, but quite pleasant, especially when agitated or swirled.
Palate is clean on the front, with a touch of generic hoppy spice and some freshness mid palate. The hops disintegrate a little on the back, giving a slightly funky character like fragrant garbage, but by the end it's relatively clean and fresh again.
Overall, this isn't bad, but it's a bit generic. How is this different from Epic's other brews? Not by much: it feels as though it's the same ideas in a different beer. Still fine stuff from the Epic boys, but let's see them do something truly unique.

Bottle from Blackhearts and Sparrows. From notes.
A - Poured dark gold and bright with a one finger thick fluffy beige head. Spattered lace and a film of retention.
S - Grass, some citrus, hop pellets, and lot's of pine.
T - Lot's of pine again, hop pellets. That pine was really strong and overpowering.
M - Really dry, some strong bitterness, almost chewy body and good carbonation.
O/D - Sort of a chore to finish this. Really piney and not especially easy to drink of pleasant while drinking. Not terrible, just not what I look for in a solid IPA.

A - Bright clear amber sheltered by a creamy head and webs of quality lacing.
S - Pine resin hops, passionfruit and sweet honey.
T - Not as delectable as its Epic brothers, but still a quality IPA, seems more piney than fruity but you will enjoy some bitter orange peel, mango and kiwifruit.
M - Full resinous body, low carbonation, dry lasting finish.
O - Go for an Armageddon instead.

Pours a clear golden amber hue which leaves a rather creamy three finger head and heaps of lacing everywhere, the smell is tropical fruit punch, pineapple, mangoes, boiled candy and sherbet, the mouthfeel is just over lightbodied and disappointing and has tastes of ripe mangoes, kiwi fruit, boiled candy, citrus sherbet, rockmelon and finished with a citrus hop bitterness and overall a nice drop thats only downfall is the mouthfeel,im glad ive tried it but would not rush out and buy again cheers.

500mL from IBS I think
Pours orange with nice head/lacing.
Smell is massive pine, big malt backbone too. Later on there's a herbal minty evergreen almost medicinal note.
Taste is highly hopped and malted, but a bit of that medicinal character is still showing through. Some watery gaps.
Mouthfeel is fine, a little astringent. Lengthy bitterness. Some watery gaps.
Being from Epic this beer is still big on flavour even if it's not as good as Armageddon and its herbal qualities get a little cloying.
