Notes/Commercial Description:
Hop aroma and flavor dominate this IPA. However, the malt character of this deep amber colored ale nicely balances the hop component thus avoiding a harsh bitterness. Pure hoppiness!

Reviewed during the last week when out of service area/Wifi in WY/UT. Full phone notes taken at the Rustic Inn, Jackson WY.

A- Can poured to a goblet with a clear deep golden body. A white head fills in to around a finger high with a frothy texture. Head retention is fairly good as large islands and a puffy ring result. Lacing begins with several webs and

S- Citrus and floral hop notes are responsible for a large portion of the aroma. Beyond that are notes of pine, light cracked base grains, bread and some fruit.

T- Zesty citrus hops lead off with grapefruit and bitter orange peel as pine, floral and spicy hop notes follow. Some balance provided by yeast fruit esters, bread, pale cracked cereal grains, light caramel and slight sweetness.

MF- Light to medium bodied with a foamy and frothy texture. Carbonation comes in at a fairly high level and it feels somewhat creamy with agitation. Finished with a sharp but clean zesty pine bitterness.

Totally random six pack of cans grabbed in the Badlands National Park general store. The hops remind me of Torpedo or SNPA and I would guess Centennial or Cascade are used. Very solid.

Poured from the 12oz. can into a Crow Peak "can" pint glass.

Pours a lovely, clear light copper with one finger of head that leaves some spotty lacing.

The aroma I get is mostly pine with some bread, grass and a little citrus underneath.

The taste is big, piney hops right up front with a little spiciness as well then a bit of juicy sweet followed by a lingering grassy bitterness that stays on the tongue.

The mouthfeel is thin to medium.

Overall, I think this is a very good IPA, especially if you lean to the pine, resinous flavors. Get it fresh and you've got a very good beer.

Can provided by LiverBelly - thanks. Named after the 11th Hour Gulch in Spearfish Canyon where the walls are so narrow and high that it receives only 1 hour of sunlight each day. Hope to visit one day.

A: Pours a clear goldenish copper with a thin (1/4-inch) slightly off-white head which fades quickly to the rim leaving some spotty lace.

N: Pine forest and grainy malts with some mild floral and herbal notes.

T: Mainly follows the nose with piney hops, crackers, and malts

M: Moderate body and light carbonation. Slightly resiny with a dry and bitter grassy finish.

O: Refreshing, but don't expect a hop monster. Could not figure out the canning date above the bar code (2 10 27 A 2 B A). Would like to try this really fresh.
