From notes on 04/06/12:
No freshness date; Poured in a pint glass.

A - Less than a half inch of off-white frothy head that doesn't stick around for long; Medium amber in color with a fairly cloudy appearance; Small amounts of lacing left behind

S - Smell is a bit muted, but I still get grassy and herbal hops; Equal presence of toasted biscuits, toffee, and grains as well

T - Lots of biscuits, toast, sweet caramel, and grains in the taste; Some grassy hops are detected, but the malts stand their ground and dominate the flavor; Decent shot of bitterness present in the taste that comes forward more than the grassy hop flavor; I taste a bit of metallic flavor and diacetyl as well - metallic character lingers in the underwhelming aftertaste, accompanied by some pepper and grass

M - Moderate carbonation with a bit of a sting; Medium bodied or just a shade above; Slick, semi-dry coat left within the mouth

O - This English IPA wasn't one to stand out from the crowd, and was a bit disappointing compared to other brews I've had within the style. It's not a bad brew, and far from the worst I've had, but also not a bomber that I'd seek out again.

Hazy orange color with a one finger head that leaves a moderate amount of lacing.

Aroma very restrained. But some caramel, biscuit and orange are detectable. Flavor is of earthy and orange/grapefruit hops on a dry caramel and biscuit malt base.

Medium body with just the right carbonation. Lingering bitter finish.

Overall, this is nothing to knock one's socks off, but it is a well made, balanced and tasty brew. I brought this back from VA two years in a row, and I would recommend it. Cheers!

A - Nice, cloudy amber color with an off-white one-finger head. Heavy lacing and good retention. 3.5

S - Hops, banana, apples, and a bit of an ester-y scent. Even though the smell itself is pleasant, it's also really faint and a bit underwhelming. 2.5

T - Bit of malty sweetness at first, which quickly dissolves into a very bitter, hoppy aftertaste. I found this enjoyable for the first half of the pint, but now I find the initial sweetness getting a bit more sickly as time goes on. 2.5

M - Smooth and light to medium-bodied. Not much carbonation but the hopnotes at the end give the tongue their own sensation. 3.0

O - The appearance and mouthfeel of this beer are good, but I'm not too sure about the smell or the taste, with the latter being my main concern. The initial sweetness is almost too much compared to the hopnotes at the end. Instead of balancing the beer throughout the entire experience, I think this beer skips the middle entirely and instead attempts to balance the taste by having a very strong (read: heavy-handed) beginning and finish. If there was something in the middle to better link and bond the initial malt flavors and hopnotes I'd be giving this beer a solid score. 3.0

Poured about 45 degrees into a Stella stemglass.

Comes a hazy amber with an off white one finger head.

Smell is nothing but a thin pine and some malty sweetness.

The mouth is noticeably robust and round, neither of which was suggested by the smell. Pine resin and some dark sugars meld with an excellent amount of carbonation to make this not unique, but definitely pleasurable.

Overall, well-crafted and a steal at about 4USD per 650. Well balanced with a decent amount of body, if a little generic tasting. The amount of carbonation and resin makes this pair really pretty well with food, I think. Drink with sandwiches, maybe a pepper steak, or a spicy form of pizza.

Pours a golden orange color, minimal cap of head. Scent malt forward with light caramel and roasted nuts backed by earthy and grassy hops, faint bit of rye like spice. Taste is of dried malted grain, grassy hops and light rye like spice - earthy all around. Medium bodied, dry finish, mild carbonation. Very English like build to this IPA - grainy, grassy and earthy.

A - Crystal clear amber color with great lacing supplied by the well bodied and thick foam head.

S - Rather fresh earthy hops was about all I could get out of the nose. Very refreshingly clean, but not much else.

T - Same earthy hops in the taste followed by sweet malts. Good, or just about the right amount of bitterness finished this up.

M - Full bodied and moderately carbonated. Fairly sweet yet bitter aftertaste.

O - Very refreshing, clean and easy drinking. Great beer!

A: Came to me looking a clear gold color with a single finger of head.

S: The first thing I notice is caramel and malt, then some grassy hop notes in come into play.

T: The taste is very much like the scent: malt forward and grassy earthy hops in the back. Lots of light rye bread flavor with a little caramel and biscuit. Lightly hoppy.

M: Thin with carbonation

O: A strange AIPA as its very malt forward. I dont knock it for that but nothing really stuck out to me here as phenomenal.
