I've been here a couple of times. Newly opened on a completely redone street. Very nice location if you are visiting Hawaii [parking is on the street parallel [behind] at the hotel.

Rather large place, but if you go for dinner you can expect a wait. No reservations.

Good size oval bar. TV's all around. Nice place to go and watch a sporting event [which I recently did]. Very easy to start chatting with the many tourists [and a few locals] that drop in. A steady flow of people coming in and out.

Lots of beer on tap to choose from [+/-125] including a number of beers you can't get anywhere else in Hawaii. Service was very good and the food also has been very good each time I went. Sure, it is not cheap, but you're in a bar in Waikiki...what do you expect? Truly, hard to beat the beer/food/service. So far, I am quite impressed.

The Honolulu Yard House is located in an interesting location, right smack dab in the middle of the Wikiki high end shopping zone. After stoppnig by Cartier, Tiffany and Prada and emptying your bank account and wallet, you can stop on by the Yard House for a cold one.

The YH is a large, nearly cavernous affair, with several very large dinng room areas, and outside patio and a good size bar area in the middle (towards the back). it's fairly dark and cool inside, which can be a welcome discovery on some the typically warm summer days you find on the beach. As for the beer selection, the bar tender proudly boasted that they have 130 different selections on tap. The menu is certainly good size, but of cousre in addition to an impressive selection of craft beer and imports, they also have a wide range of macro swill on tap as well. In fact, quality really does seem to be up and down here, and I know that after looking over the unimpressive IPA list (roughly 10 different options, with the Coronado idiot and the Kona the Big Swell the only beers I found even tempting), I went with a glass of Ayinger Doublebock and St. Bernardus, while the GF went with a glass of Duchesse du Bourgone. Considering that we were in Honolulu, I was impressed by the Belgian selection, which I think consisted of 10 different choices on tap.

Service was OK. We were here during off hours (early in the afternoon on a Thursday), and so there weren't a whole lot of folks in attendance. Our waiter forgot about us briefly at one point, but was apologetic about it (they were busy getting the place ready for an expected rush/crush later in the day), and generally our serivce wasn't bad. I didn't get the impression that the staff were the most knowledgeable folks on earth beer-wise (and I got a laugh when they listed the hell or high watermelon as a Lost Coast beer), but they were friendly enough, and they tried to be helpful (this is one of those places where the stuff assumes - rightly so I expect- that most customers dropping by know little or nothing about craft beer). We also ordered a couple of different appetizers, both of which were pretty good (the poke was really good). Prices were on the high side, but not inordinately so, especially considering the location of this place (ultra expensive Wikiki). I think our 10 ounce glasses of Belgian beers were in the $7 to $8 range.

Shrug. While this place doesn't have a whole lot of personality, the beer selection is pretty good, and the food is decent. They also have multiple TV's turned to various sporting events, and the AC works just fine here. Definitely a place to keep in mind should be in the mood for some decent beer while wandering arond the shopping area of wikiki.

We went to Yard House this afternoon after taking in some sun on Waikiki Beach. After a refreshing shower at the hotel we started walking down Kalakaua Ave and made Yard House our first destination of the evening that would later include a memorable Mai Tai at Tiki's Grill & Bar as we watched the sun set.

Surprisingly we were greeted with a "we have about a twenty to twenty-five minute wait" from the hostess. I was really shocked because this was at 3:30pm on a Monday, but then I remembered it's St. Patrick's Day. Nevertheless, we decided to get a couple of drinks at the massive square bar in the center of the restaurant. After about five minutes, two seats opened and we were in business.

There was a great vibe in the air here as is the case with most restaurants and bars in this area. Open air was flowing through and customers were in good spirits. I really liked the music too with selections from Bob Dylan, CSNY and The Rolling Stones. Service was was beyond good. A team of bartenders waited on us and they were responsive, friendly and very familiar with their beer selection.

The beer selection here is impressive, expect over 130 draft options. I started off with a Koko Brown and also had a super fresh Rogue Farms 7 Hop IPA. We had a salad and chicken nachos that were good. They also offer seafood, steaks, burgers, salads and street taco plates.

Aloha!

The Yard House in HI is probably the best one I've ever been to. The setting is really nice and with so many folks vacationing it just has an awesome vibe.

The prices when put in context, you're on Waikiki beach, all of a sudden become reasonable.

I can still remember eating pizza there in June of last year (7 months ago) so that's pretty memorable and complimentary of the food.

Visited on 06/10/2011

I heard alot of things about this place before we flew to Hawaii.

We stayed at The Embassy Suites and The Yard House was at the bottom of our hotel. I knew I had to visit this place after hearing that they had 120 beers on tap.

The atmosphere was loud and the place was packed. I did go during happy hour so that was a plus.

We were seated quickly and the staff was very nice as with every place in Waikiki. As I browsed the beer menu, I was completely disappointed. Although there was a little over 100 beers, hardly any of them appealed to me.

I had 2 beers because I felt like I had to since we went there. The first was a Black Butte and the other was a Trois Pistoles. You can check my reviews if you really want to know how I felt about the beers.

I'm glad to say I visited this establishment. Any place you visit will be better when your in Waikiki. I'm gonna have to check this place out again in San Jose or Roseville. Maybe the beer selection will be better.
