Appearance is a murky golden orange with a thick head, some lace. Smell is of sweet citrus, maybe honeydew. Taste has a good malt hop balance ending in a sweet bitterness. Mouthfeel is a light - medium with good carbonation that goes down crisp, making for a solid warm weather brew

Ordered this On-tap--Great tasting lager and well-balanced for a Marzen style. Arrives with a 1"+ head and an attractive orange-gold color, far lighter than those over-the-top Oktoberfest beers.

A - 22 oz bomber to stein glass. Translucent amber color with a foamy cap that lasts a good while and leaves healthy sticky lacing.

S - Pale malts with some grassy aromatic hops and lingering brewers yeast.

T- Delicious barley malt, very chewy and sweet like grain candy. Molasses brown sugary grains and balanced by traditional noble and some piney pacific northwest hops. Medium bitterness that accompanies the wet grains nicely.

M - Palate is wet and watery. Nice full bodied and flavored oktoberfest. Carbonation and mountain mineral water back up the flavors well and is refreshing.

O -This marzen would fit in any beerhaus in Germany during oktoberfest. It's labeled as a pale lager but definitely can stand up with the hofbraus and paulaners of the world. Good for when you when you want to drink your dinner!

Thin body with a light amber color in the Pilsner glass. The head is pretty long lasting with plenty of sudsy lacing. A tasty gulp with a spritzy mouthfeel. Not much aroma, more of an herbal note.

This has a toasty and malty flavor that adds a lot to the flavors for such a lighter-weight brew. Kind of a Long Island ice tea taste with lots of caramel. Some resiny hopy but not really bitter. Well balanced in its modest way.

A pleasant enough quaff with decent roasted flavors. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Malt & Vine in Redmond.

Poured from a 22oz bottle into an Anchor pint glass. Consumed within 5 days of purchase from Bottleworks in Seattle.

Appearance: Deep gold/light copper color, with a very faint haze. Medium sized bubbles form a nice 1/4" head that fades slowly into a solid thin layer.

Smell: Clean aroma with no yeast character. Smooth, bread-like aromas with subtle hints of caramel.

Taste: Pleasant malt flavors dominate the character (bread/caramel), with a noted noble/spicy hop character keeping the balance. Hop bitterness could be considered high for the style...but it's still a great beer!

Mouthfeel: Light to Medium-light mouthfeel. Carbonation feels a little prickly, and could perhaps exacerbate the perception of higher bitterness (my only complaint).

Overall: I have to commend the brewing staff at Roslyn, although the label reading 'Pale Lager' hardly does justice to the beer in this bottle. Well crafted lager, with nowhere to hide any flaws (it's only 4.5% ABV!). This could easily become a daily drinker. Thanks to the staff at Bottleworks for recommending this beer! I can't wait to try the Dark Lager.

Even additional more thanks to beertunes for this spectacular example of one of my favorite styles that is the biggest surprise masterpiece of a box containing many.

Clear and golden, topped briefly by a finger of thickest cream foam that relaxes to a soft cap. Just beautiful.

Really rounded, almost sweet, yeast, floral, super tasty grain, and slightest hint of herb make an enticing aroma that inspires saliva shots from the sides of mouth. As it warms hints of fruity bitter, very light spice come into it.

This beer cashes the check of the aroma and pays interest. It starts with clean, bright yeast and really tasty grain sweet that gains some hop and melts into a taste that is that well blended and balanced "Marzen goodness" flavor the best of style possess, but which cannot be dissected into words. Even better as it warms. Stupendously delicious, the finest "American Marzen", or Pale Lager, or whatever you want to call it, I have tasted.

Excellent mouthfeel, just right med. body, just right cling, just right finish, creamy and refreshingly easy drinking to a fault.

My overall impression of this beer is, were it possible, I would drink this beer every day for the rest of my life.

Edit: really surprised t see the "low" scores of this beer. Perhaps the recipe has been improved this year? This beer Rocks!

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: nice medium orange hue with a light haze to the body and a moderate effervescence. Head is a thick finger of frothy ivory foam. Nice!

Smell: nice toasty, nutty and bready aroma with just a hint of noble hops. I think it is balanced and quite appealing.

Taste: flavor has more caramel character than the aroma, but it is also toasty and a little bit bready as well. Bitterness is moderate and balanced with a light noble hop flavor, and the overall flavor is quite clean. I like it a lot.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a good level of carbonation and a surprisingly nice creaminess. Good stuff!

Overall: this is quite a good Oktoberfest. It may be my favorite example of the style, including the German varieties I've tried. Kudos!

Appears a hazy orange yellow color with a thin white head.

Smells slightly fruity, a bit of caramel smell us apparent as well. I also smell a bit of grassy hops.

Tastes like quite grassy, a nice citrus aroma, and a bit like apple. It's very smooth and light yet full of flavor. A unique but nice and refreshing pale lager.

The carbonation is moderate the drinkability is very good because it is light but flavorful. A good beer on a hot day.

Overall a very nice beer that is a cross breed of a citrusy pale ale and a light lager. If you see this, it is worth picking up.

golden and reasonably filtered, with visible carbonation and a decent head of medium white foam.

light malts in the nose, sweet with citrus and clove.

taste is citrusy, mild hops, mild malts. It is a bit tastier on tap from memory, but decidedly good. I feel like this is the offspring of a bland american macrobeer and a light pale ale.

mouthfeel is light but smooth, drinkability is extremely high.
