A - 22 oz bomber to stein glass. Color is deep dark ruby red with a dense 2 finger head that has good retention and lacing.
S - Deep toasty malts with a subdued noble hop scent
T- Rich roasted barley with dark bready biscuit flavors. Chocolate molasses and cinnamon notes follow. Grassy noble hops round out and even balance to the hearty malt.
M - Very intriguing wateriness to this beer with an AVB of 4.8% A darker beer with lower alcohol such as this is very appealing. Carbonation is average.
O -A good quality craft beer that boasts "pure mountain water, select barley malt and yakima valley hops." Tasty german dunkel that I will find myself enjoying again.

Picked this one up at a local grocer. Hadn't heard of Roslyn before it; interesting that this was their flagship.
Looks great - a big mug of cola-colored lager.
Not much happening in the nose - some toasty malts but otherwise a balanced aroma.
It's flavor starts somewhat toasty-malt but quickly crosses over into a dark chocolate, probably in conjunction with Noble hops.
There's a little bit of a lingering stickiness which isn't may favorite yet not a deal breaker.
This is a good Dunkel, a style I rarely have a hankering for, for what it's worth.

On tap at the Brick in Roslyn. One of the best porter style lagers I've ever had

Handsome coppery amber color in the tall chalice. Clear with a nicer than average foam and plenty of spritz on the tongue. Very light body. A slight whiff of caramel.
Malty with some slight sweetness and not as dry as a Schwartzbier. A grainy taste with hints of scorched cereal. Some dark notes, woody, brambly, a charred bit of barley. Hops emerge from the background with some bitter pine and a modest bitter aftertaste.
Another decent entry in the Utah supermarket beer sweepstakes (4.0% max). Quite a pleasant big glassful for thirst quenching rather than savoring. From the 22 oz bottle bought at Bottleworks in Seattle.

Poured into a Dogfish Head pint glass. Pours a very dark mahogany brown with a thin, but persistant tan head. Aroma of dark, lightly toasted malt, cocoa and a hint of chocolate. Flavor follows aroma with dark biscuit and toasted malt, cocoa, nuts, nicely balanced and full. Medium bodied with a hint of creaminess. A very nice, rich dunkel lager, very robust for an ABV of 4.0! Full enough flavor to be approaching porter territory. Quite a flavor achievement for a session ale. I'll be trying Roslyn's other beer as soon as possible.
