Pours a coppery-amber color with a voluminous white, creamy looking head. Good lace left behind.
Smell is nicely sour, oak and cedar, malt and the scent of a bandage just out of the packaging (that's not a bad thing). A good balance.
Taste is very tart, sour, acidic with a vinegar/bandage mixture following close behind the initial taste with a smokiness bringing up the rear. Balance is heavy to the sour until it becomes an aftertaste. Still sour but the smoke steps up then.
Light bodied, similar to a wheat, with an aggressively tangy effervescence. Not a smooth kind of beer, more of a palate wrecker without being a hoppy bastard. Can't see having it again but glad I did once.

I can't go into detail on terminology, but I can say that I'm hunting for this beer wherever I can find it because it's the most unique and delicious beer I've ever tasted. It's loaded with smokey flavor, meat, and yet it ends refreshing. I highly recommend this and I have to say, it's my favorite beer.

Appearance is a cloudy muddy straw color with a finger of head that lingered for quite some time and then left nice lacing in its wake. The nose was more like a wine than a beer – sour grapes dominate. The flavor follows the nose for the most part. In addition to the wine-like flavor, there is an earthy tone that probably comes from the peat. There are also vague hints of scotch. The finish is mildly tart.

The body on this offering is light and refreshing and it certainly has promise. The problem is that this beer is a little too all over the place. Sometimes less is more and simple is better; this is one of those situations.

wonderful smell of hay and barnyard with a touch of smoke underneath, the taste follows the smell somewhat. lots of funk and peat/hay flavors and just a little bit of smoke and tart finish, plenty of carbonation and a drinkable mouthfeel this really is a fantastic bottle of beer
