Poured out a pale yellow with a bright, white, large bubbled head. Smelled of light biscuit malt, some brett, a little bit of funkiness. Slightly reminded me of a triple with brett. Taste pretty much follows the smell. Hugely carbonated, the effervescence really helps to push the flavors in your mouth. Wasn't expecting much from this, but was pleasantly surprised. Could drink a bunch of this on a hot day. (408 characters)

It's a very sour saison that has a touch of "Geuze" to it. I like it as it's very drinkable. (92 characters)

A-Pours a lightly cloudy yellow color. Nice, thick, well formed head. Laces well and retains.

S-Aroma is pleasantly funky. It's not over the top but there is some funk. Slightly spicy Saison yeast. Pale maltiness. This should be a pretty eccentric Saison, unless my nose is fooling me.

T-The funkiness in the nose is back but it's a bit softer than what I was anticipating. Barnyard funk and a slight sourness. The maltiness has both a sweet and dry aspect to it. Finishes with a soft Belgian spiciness.

M-Lighter bodied. Flavors linger. Spritzy carbonation.

O-A tasty Saison with a some rustic, funky qualities that appeal to me. I liked the aroma more than the flavor but both were good. (694 characters)

i suspect the price tag on this has prevented it from getting the attention it deserves here on BA. maybe its the misses from ducato that keeps the good ones from getting found out too fast. who knows who cares, this is amazing. one of the most funky and interesting woody saison wild ales ive had. mixed cultures in oak barrels for this beauty, and its a stunning example of the wild fermentation that makes the italians so enjoyable and unique. this is really cloudy and dense looking, heady too, and you can see a ton of soda looking bubbles exploding at the surface. smells different from the thousands of others that sound the same on paper, the oak is immediately obvious, almost seems like white wine barrels, there is a mouthwatering fruity pucker to this and a tannic thing i really like that screams wine at me. the sourness is mixed with gnarly funk too, farm and wet and musty and the best of both worlds. i would in my head assume this was wheat based, but the label says only barley. amazing how they have made such a fluffy full mouthfeel to this without any wheat, it has that raw flavor too that i like in the style, very much pale wheat in nature. its also very mature, dry as they come, and developed to a complexity rarely achieved. its an incredible bottle of beer, probably my favorite from ducato so far. its like the chyropolis they make times a million. the final evolution i think. cantillon good. (1,423 characters)
