I stopped in here with my family on New Year's Day around 1pm. It was pretty empty, but I figured most people were still sleeping off the previous night (plus it was about 2 degrees). Atmosphere is fairly typical of a college-area eatery. Beautiful bar and a nice collection of growlers and other bottles are on display. Beers were all high quality. They offer flights of 5.5oz sample. A great option when confronted with numerous taps that are new to you. I had Schell's Wild Rice Farmhouse Ale, Summit Unchained Imperial Pumpkin Porter and a Flat Earth Tripel. All well-done beers that were worth a try. I also had a pint of Brau Bros Scotch Ale. The food is good but a little greasy - fries and onion rings, especially. My Bacon, Turkey Avocado sandwich was great and everyone else with me liked their food, too. Prices are pretty good. The one downer of the trip was that Surly Smoke was on the menu but the keg had kicked the previous night. All in all a great place to visit. The taps were so good that I didn't even ask about the bottle options! (1,052 characters)

Visited on a summer Monday at 6:30 pm. Place was slow. Just off UM campus. There are definitely better beer bars in the twin cities. Walk to surly less than a mile away.

V - Typical dark and dank northern latitude bar. Definitely beer is part of their focus but not particularly beer centric. Curious as to how often the taps rotate based on their rather permanent looking beer menu. 3.5
Q- All beers in shaker pints (-). All the glasses look clean. 3.5
Sel - About 35 on tap with BMC in bottles. A good selection focused on local brews - Surly, Indeed, Steel Toe, Fulton, Lift Bridge, Summit, Bent Paddle. Also a sour on tap. It was summer so only one stout on tap 4
S - Staffed by university students. Friendly but distant. 3.75
F - Ordered the bleu burger which was good. Fries were pedestrian. 3.5 (805 characters)

Only thing I didn't like about the place was the dungeon bathroom that gave fear to possible transgressions against my person. (126 characters)

Grreat beer selection. Service was prompt. Reminded me of my college years but with better beer by far. (105 characters)

Awesome tap list always and often unbeatable beer prices on some terrific brews. If heading to any Gopher games this is a must stop! (133 characters)

Stub and Herbs had the atmosphere of a aged pub in a trendy location, featuring an above average tap list and one of the best music selections I've experienced in a long time. Bartender was boring, slow and depressing, and a below average happy hour takes away from an awesome pub. The company surrounding my party was superb and makes me interested in what a busier night would look like. One to check out but until I investigate further it is not a pub I will be frequenting. (477 characters)
